After spending so much time in imagined fantasy realms and books for much of my twenties, the desire to attend a Renaissance Faire was always an experience I wanted to try. But, it was always off-putting, too pricey, and too hot to be outside with no real forested vale to go to such faires in grand open and too-hot of spaces. That’s why I waited to attend one until moving to the PNW.

On June 10, 2023, I attended my very first Renaissance Faire. The Oregon Renaissance Faire was held at the Clackamas County Fair in Canby, Oregon, to be exact. The weekend’s theme was ‘A Pirates Plunder,’ which means I could exploit my Drunken Sailor, who I enchanted with my Salty Siren Song seventeen Springs past.
